The
ordinary and mundane had never been as appealing to him as it was right now;
cleaning a floor, opening a can of vegetables, peeling the sticker off of the
tomato sauce bottle, sweeping vomit, tucking his father into bed, watching the
television or combing his hair, anything at all was what he would rather be
doing and anywhere but here was where he wished he could be.
