AmeriKa - a dystopian musical / rock opera, coming soon

Writing has finished on a new project entitled, AmeriKa. A musical / rock opera in collaboration with life long friend Adam Keane - a genial and phenominal musician and artist, and my ex-bandmate from Hypercenter. This project sees both our worlds, our strengths, our insanities, and our arts coming together, met in the middle with the help of some Ai to do narration and to act out the drama we have created. Myself responsible for the script / story and Adam responsible for the music / songs.

 

For both of us, this concept is entirely new. From the outset, we weren't quite sure what we were creating. And to be honest, i struggle to tell you what we have created. if you choose, you can listen to it as a song, and the dialogue and narrative are lyrics on that journey, or you can give in to the story, and the music sits underneath as a gripping and engaging soundtrack.

This story is also written duirng the worst genocide and ethnic cleansing of my modern time. The genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza by Isreal, along with the proposed annexation of West Bank and what will become the total ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian population over the coming months and years - at the hands of Israel, and with the open support of America.

 

Unable to comprehend such lunacy - the polar opposite to the ideals, values, and morals inprinted in my psyche as a child based on the 'never again' tenets of the holocaust and WW2 - the only way to deal with my disbelief, disgust, and disheartenment, was to create art.

 

And so, this project is a direct response to the genocide in Gaza.

 

Post production for Part 1 of AmeriKa - The City of Shadows will begin soon. The musical will be released as two vinyl records, along with digital. Writing for parts 2 and 3 in the trilogy will also begin quite soon.

For 2025/2026, this will be the focus of my artists endeavour. I imagine no fiction / book releases until late 2026 or 2027.
